Scientific directions, introduction of scientific developments

Since 1921 – the scientific direction of prof. Valyashko M.: study of absorption spectra and structure of organic compounds of synthetic and vegetable origin (1 doctoral, 16 candidate dissertations).
The scientific direction of prof. Bezugly P.: development of preparative methods for targeted synthesis of biologically active substances among derivatives of indolinones, dicarboxylic acids and 2-oxo-4-hydroxyquinoline (3 doctoral dissertations and 17 candidate dissertations were defended). Author of 117 patents and copyright certificates, 240 scientific articles.
Scientific direction of prof. Ukrainets I.: synthesis, reactivity and biological activity in a number of derivatives of malonic acid, 2-oxo-4-hydroxyquinoline and 2,2-dioxo-1H-2λ6,1-benzthiazine (3 doctoral and 21 candidate dissertations were defended). Author of more than 300 scientific articles, including 180 articles have been published in the international journals Chemistry of Heterocyclic Compounds, Tetrahedron Letters, Acta Crystallo-graphica, Spectrochimica Acta, Journal of Analytical Chemistry, Tetrahedron, etc., more than 70 copyright certificates and patents.
The scientific direction of prof. Georgiyants V.: molecular modeling and targeted search for anticonvulsants; substantiation of standardization parameters, development and validation of methods of quality control of medicines of industrial and pharmaceutical production (7 doctoral and 18 candidate dissertations were defended). Author and co-author of more than 700 scientific papers, including 350 scientific articles, 12 copyright certificates, 26 patents for inventions and 48 patents for utility models of Ukraine and 30 information letters.

Research direction of prof. Sergiy Vlasov: Organic synthesis and analysis of the biologically active substances and development of the novel drugs. Sergiy Vlasov carries out the research in the field of the synthesis of the novel 3-heterylcoumarins. He is also interested in application of metal-complex catalysis for synthesis of novel derivatives of 4-substituted thieno[2,3-d]pyrimidines and pharmacological screening thereof. Discovery of thienopyrimidine antimicrobial agents with innovative mechanisms of action to overcome antibiotic resistance. Sergiy Vlasov is the author of more than 178 research works, among them there are 65 research articles are in the field of pharmaceutical science (21 are indexed in Scopus) and 11 patents of Ukraine. h-index (Scopus) – 5.

The scientific direction of assoc. Bevz N.: substantiation of pharmacopoeial standardization of combined tablet dosage forms and original substances, development and validation of methods of quality control of drugs of synthetic and natural origin in multicomponent medicinal products (3 candidate theses defended). Head of the initiative topic “Development of new and improvement of existing methods of analysis of medicinal products for detection of substandard and falsified products”, state registration number of the GDR: 0114U000952. Performer of scientific research and development carried out at the expense of the state budget on the following topics: “Development of a complex drug for the treatment of type II diabetes” (04.2020 – 09.2020): “Development of monographs of the State Pharmacopoeia of Ukraine for medicinal products manufactured in pharmacies” (2020 – 2021); executor of scientific research KPKV 2301020 “Scientific and scientific and technical activity in the field of health care” on the topic “Research of original substances for the correction of symptoms of neurological deficits, forecasting and evaluation of factors affecting the mechanisms of action” (from 16.01.2023 to 31.08.2023). Author and co-author of about 200 scientific articles, 23 copyright certificates and patents.

Scientific direction of Prof. Lyudmila SIDORENKO: search for biologically active substances in a number of 4-hydroxy-2-oxo-1,2-dihydroquinoline derivatives and amidated derivatives of 4-hydroxy-2,2-dioxo-1H-2λ6,1-benzothiazine-3-carboxylic acid, development methods for determining potential chemical contaminants in the process of synthesis and production of APIs, modern approaches to the development and implementation of quality standards for medical products, molecular design and microbiological screening of innovative derivatives of fluoroquinolone antibiotics (2021-2023, the topic is implemented at the expense of the state budget). Author and co-author of about 170 scientific works, 5 patents. Prepares 3 doctors of philosophy.

Scientific direction of Prof. Hanna SEVERINA: rational molecular design of biologically active substances among azaheterocycles based on a combination of traditional organic synthesis and innovative technologies of virtual screening, molecular docking and QSAR analysis; structural analysis; development and validation of quality control methods for promising APIs; analysis of food products.

Employees of the department participated in the development of 21 drugs of different pharmacological action.
