University College London February: the year of Russia’s illegal full-scale invasion of Ukraine

On February 24, 2023 the Provost of University College London, Dr. Michael Spence, honored Ukraine with a minute silence in the UCL Main Quarter as a mark of respect for the fallen:

“The Pharmacist’s Defence Association (PDA) “Medicines to Ukraine” Campaign is a pharmacist-led initiative in partnership with Pharmacists Without Borders, EPhEU, FIP and the charity Caritas.

We are working directly with the Ukrainian Ministry of Health to distribute essential medicines via a centralised scheme to deliver them directly to the Ukrainian hospitals. Recently a €200,000 Euro consignment was sent out to MoH partners in Ukraine thanks to donations from national and international pharmacy organisations and private citizens».

The Medicines to Ukraine initiative has been endorsed by Sir Keir Starmer Leader of the Labour Party and the PDA Chairman & General Secretary of EPhEU Mark Koziol presented the Medicine’s to Ukraine Campaign at the FIP 2022 Congress in Seville.

The Rector also thanked Prof Gareth Williams and Prof Michael Heinrich for their support of Ukrainian scientists and researchers who were displaced and are overcoming difficult setbacks.

In the evening, Assoc. Prog. Olha Mykhailenko joined the procession to commemorate the victims of the Russian invasion by marching with candles from St. Volodymyr Statue, Holland Park Avenue to the Russian Embassy together with Ukrainian public organizations in Great Britain.
